Motivote Custom Prizes Overview

Custom Prizes allow your organization to feature your own rewards for users to view and earn in the Prize Store. You can create entry-style and purchase-style prizes.

As an Admin, you can track prize metrics and view winners.

Adding New Prizes

Admins can add Prizes directly via the Admin Portal or request for our team to add actions for you.

Have us add your prize:

To have us add the prizes, fill out this form. Submit the form again for each prize. They will be added within 48 hours of submission. You'll be notified by email when they are live, with an opportunity to provide edits/change requests.


Configuration Options

Settings

You can customize the following fields/settings for each prize. Most settings can be edited after publishing the prize.

  • Prize Name

  • Prize Type

  • Purchase/Entry Deadline

  • Points "Cost"

  • Quantity Available

  • Featured Image

  • Entry Rules

Prize Types

You can select from the following prize types:

  • Purchase-style prize

    • Use points to immediately buy a prize

    • Often a promo code/other digital reward displayed within the platform

    • Best use case: low value, high volume or unlimited rewards

    • Can limit number of user purchases or allow unlimited purchases

  • Entry-style prize

    • Use points to buy 'raffle' entries, or chances at winning

    • Motivote draws winner(s) based on provided instructions

    • Best use case: high value, low volume rewards (one or just a few)

    • Can limit number of user entries or allow unlimited entries

    • Points used to enter are deducted from total, regardless of if user wins

Segmentation

Prizes can be assigned show to:

  • All users on your platform

  • Members of specific team(s)

Data Access

Admins can track prize purchase/entry metrics and view/export prize engagement via the Admin Portal. Users can also view prizes they've entered to win or purchased on their MyMotivote page.


User Communications

Users who purchase prizes see the redemption instructions immediately after confirming their purchase. They can access this later from the MyMotivote page.

Motivote manages the initial communication and "handoff" to users who win entry-style prizes, after drawing winners based on your provided instructions. We will confirm with your admin before contacting users.


"Pricing" Prizes

Use this resource to understand points values for election actions. "Price" your prizes against what a user would typically earn during an election period.

Consider these options:

  • Every single user should be able to enter a raffle or purchase an item, regardless of what actions they complete;

  • Users should complete at least some of the voting readiness actions to be able to access the prize; or

  • Users should go “above and beyond” to access the prize, earning additional points with inviting friends through their referral link and completing Custom Actions
